Are You Living in Overflow or Just Surviving?

Oct 25, 2026

What does it truly mean to live with overflow? Not just in our finances, but in every dimension of our lives? This message takes us deep into the story of Elijah and Obadiah in 1 Kings 18, where we discover that even in the middle of a severe famine, one man found a way to be generous. Obadiah hid and fed a hundred prophets at the risk of his own life, and in doing so, demonstrated a principle that cuts against every instinct we have toward self-preservation. The spiritual lesson here is striking: overflow does not begin when we have hoarded enough for ourselves. It begins the moment we open our hands. We are challenged to ask ourselves a penetrating question, one worth sitting with this week: who are we investing in right now? Who has access to what we carry? The generosity of God is on full display in this passage, and we are invited to mirror that generosity in our own lives, trusting that what we release will return to us in ways we cannot calculate or foresee.

Elevation Church exists to move people on their spiritual journey to Relationship with God, Release from cycles of defeat and bondage, Redemption of purpose and Revival making a difference in the world. We believe in a dream  of a home where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and the confused can find God’s love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness and guidance.

WAYS TO GIVE

God is generous and so he calls us to be as well.  What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.
